Black Beans with Corned Beef Sandwich Bun

Honestly, I'm not really a fan of beans the only kind of beans that I'm eating is the white one that looks like kidney, what do you call it? White kidney beans? I'm not sure. Then I tried this black beans, my grandma gave me these black beans in a can but she wanted me to cook these with corned beef. So I just saute onion, garlic and tomato I like putting tomatoes on corned beef so I put some tomatoes. Then I put the corned beef and the black beans I don't cook them long cause I don't like my beans to be smashed beans. I think 5 mins will do. I slightly toast the buns, I like the inside to be soft and slightly crispy on the outside. Oh I add a little salt and pepper to brighten the taste of the beans and then its all set to eat. My family and I ate them as a snack. I only ate half of the bun because I feel full already. Well, in the end we enjoy eating the buns and end up not eating dinner. I think I have to eat beans often. Yes, I think so.
So I hope you like beans too. Like me I think?! Let meh now what's your favorite bean recipe.

DIY Pencil and Ball pen Holders

Well, I have nothing to do today and then I decided to make a DIY pen holders for me and my son. Its pretty easy doing this holders, probably the materials that you will need might be on your house especially the cans and bottles. All my materials are recycled I don't bought anything new for today's DIY. So let's get started.

This is the can's and bottle's that I've used.

Materials that I used on my DIY. Glue gun, glue stick, scissors, stickers, and design papers.

I used some fake flowers.

First, you have to cut the middle part of the plastic bottles whatever you prefer on how tall your holder be. You have to be careful on cutting the plastic bottles cause their kind of hard. But if you use can's you don't have to cut it just leave it be.

Second, you will cut your bottles. You will choose the desired paper you will put on your can's and bottle's. For my son's holder I just prefer a plain colored paper while on my holder I chose a design paper and a woven mat that I bought at the craft store and some ruffle ribbon.

After I put the paper's in the bottle's and can's i just decorate them with stickers like numbers, cartoon character and other sticker design. My son like mickey mouse so I have to put him in.

This is the other side of the holder I just glue them with glue gun cause regular glue will take longer to dry. So go for the glue gun. Yeah!

And lastly this is my holder! I have to put some flowers in my holder cause I love flowers I mean who doesn't love flowers?! I put also some small beads on the side of the flowers and on the other side of the holder I put a pink ruffled ribbon halfway of the bottle and I put some little butterflies on the bottom part of the bottle. I just love those little butterflies I think I have to buy some of those in different colors.

This is the little butterflies that I been talkin to you. How cute they are huh?!

I always love doing DIY but have no time to make it. I think this is the first DIY that I make this year but I think I never done a DIY last year. Let me think..... Yup! I never do a DIY last year! I have to do more DIY that I can use here in our house. Hmmmm....
What about you guys do you often do a DIY? And whats your favorite DIY?

Sunday Lunch

Adobong Pusit

Ginataang Malunggay

Pancit Canton

Suman Lihiya

Ginataang Baka

Prinitong Baloko

It's Sunday! My family has a tradition that every Sunday we have to go and eat lunch on our grandma's house but my family used to live here in my grandma's house so we are the one whose incharge of preparing lunch. My uncle always bought some food to our house for sunday lunch it's like an additional menu for our family because we kinda have a big family right now, my cousin just got married last year and already have a son. I'm always excited to see what my uncle cook for lunch but he cook's at their house not in our house. He cook this different kind of food. The first one is Adobong Pusit or it is a small size squid saute with onion and garlic then add soy sauce for color and add some chili for a little kick. The second one is Ginataang Malunggay I honestly don't know the english word for malunggay but it is not clearly a horseradish, it is cooked with pagi or a small ray/stinging ray for flavor but my uncle add some seeds in it that I forget to ask him what seed is that but I think its the seed of malunggay I'm not sure. One thing is for sure its delicious! The third one is Pancit Canton, it is a simple noodle dish that has many kinds of vegetable and has a chicken breast, chicken liver, my grandma put some chinenese longganisa/sausage for a little sweetness. The fourth one is Suman Lihiya, it is a sticky rice that has been cooked to a certain leaf and just cook it in a steamer until done simple as that. The fifth one is Ginataang Baka/Beef, it is cooked until tender with coconut milk, a lot of chilies so it's really hot but its good....... The sixth one is Prinitong Baluko its actually a different kind of mussel that has a big....not so transparent shell. It is just deep fried with a liquid batter. Its really good to much on and with some rice ofcourse. Ooohhhh.... I'm getting hungry!
I know your not familiar with this dishes. Its all Filipino food but I can tell you one thing this is all so yummy-nes..
So how about you? What's you favorite Sunday Lunch with your family?

A Gloomy Day

Okay... I kinda stuck here in our house for a couple of days now because of the weather. I don't like to go out on a weather like this especially the wind its like wrestling me and second I have to pick a suitable outfit for this kind of weather, hoodie or cardigan? boots or sneakers? pants or shorts? etc.. I don't say that I hate this kind of weather but I feel so stuck and the weather makes me so lazy. You know what I mean. Just laying all day in your bed and watching tv or just eat all the foods in the fridge. Right now, my son and I are just here in our house waiting for the weather to be good or sunny. Enjoying some hot chocolate on the afternoon, watching movies and getting cozy in the cold night with our pj's and comfy socks..
So what's your favorite thing to do on a cold weather like this?

Longing for Berries

Strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, golden raspberry I mean who doesn't love this beautiful and delicious berries? Not me! Unless your allergic to them. I love berries as much I love chocolate and to think of it chocolate and berries are perfect for each other. You can make chocolate covered strawberries, you can put berries in a chocolate tart  for a beautiful presentation its like a berry love in a tart. Oh no! My mouth is watering right now. For me this lovely berries are one of the beautiful things that you can eat and its also healthy for us.
Well, honestly to tell you the truth I never taste a raspberry and blackberry before. i know right?! It sounds unbelievable but its true I'm not gonna lie even though its embarrassing and funny! I know you'll be laughing at me when you read this but yeah that's life and oh I'm laughing too. Can't help it! Berries are very hard to find here in our city it's not like a big city when you can but everything you want. That's why berries here are very rare. The last time I bought a berry is last year, I think its the first week of December. My son and I got a little grocery shopping  to do because I'll be making a cinnamon roll for my aunt while walking at the fruit section........ Oh my gad! There it is! A half shelf full of strawberries! My eyes can't believe what I just saw. I hurry to get some strawberries because any day now they will be gone. I just forget all the things that I will buy and spend a couple of minutes with the strawberries. You can't blame me! I only saw them once a year. I only bought 1/4 kl of it because they are pretty expensive. Well, I don't care I just wanna take them home. And oh... blueberries are more expensive than strawberries. You can find strawberry plantation here in the Philippines but its only in baguio where the weather is cold and humid. Baguio is the only province that are appropriate for planting strawberries because of the climate but other cities like us its very hard to grow a seed of strawberry. I can tell because I tried it once they can't stand our city climate like some other plants such as eggplant, tomatoes and okra. Oh right! I just cook the strawberries with a lot of sugar to make a preserve, they are pretty sour you can't eat them by themselves that's why they need a lot of sugar. Making a preserver is the easiest thing to make with the berries beside you can just eat them. How I wish I can go to a place full of those lovely berries, picking them from their branches, carrying a basket full of berries. Dancing and singing while picking the berries. Ohh berry berry berry.
So what is your favorite berry? And what dessert do you like with your berries? or you're just like me lookin for berries?
